STRIKER Jordan Archer looks set to be on his way out of Redditch United after Bedworth put in a seven-day approach for the young attacker.
Reds manager Liam McDonald is keen to hold onto the pacey young forward he signed from Tividale in the summer.
Archer has yet to settle and produce his best form at the Valley Stadium outfit and has fallen down the pecking order as the likes of Luke Shearer and Daniel Dubidat stake their claim.
Archer played for Boldmere St Michael in their 3-2 loss to Walsall Wood in the Midlands Premier but Bedworth are keen to bolster their firepower as they find their feet in the Southern League Premier.
McDonald said: “I am confident that Jordan has everything in his locker to be a very good player and I do not want to see him leave.
“I can understand that he’s young and just wants to play games but it’s his choice.
“Does he want to stay here and fight for a place or go elsewhere?”
Redditch, who played Slough in the league last night, are on a roll and recorded a fourth straight win in the league and bounced back from their FA Cup upset against Hinckley with a 2-0 win over King’s Lynn at home on Saturday.
United handed a debut to former Worcester City keeper Jose Veiga, who joined from Nantwich last week.
Goals for Jamie Ashmore and Shearer sealed a win, which lifted United to seventh in the table.
Jamey Osborne pulled the strings in another eye-catching display.
McDonald said: “It was great to have Jose in the side, he gave me everything I wanted from my keeper."
“He made a save at the end to stop it being 2-1 and helped keep the pressure off."
United tackle Aylesbury at home in Red Insure League Cup on Saturday (3pm ko) and then entertain mid-table St Neots on Monday night (7.45pm ko).
"It has been a very good start, We are unbeaten in eight league games and we’re going in the right direction.”
