FOOTBALL ROUND-UP - STUDLEY breezed through to the next round of the FA Vase thanks to a 3-0 victory at Midland Alliance rivals Biddulph Victoria on Sunday.
And boss Lee Adams hailed the performance as the best he had seen from his players since taking charge of the side.
Goals from Jason Ramsay, Kieron Cross and Andy Keenahan wrapped up the win and left the manager planning for a trip to Staveley Miners Welfare in the round round later this month.
"Biddulph are a good side," Adams explained. "They are up at the top of the table on merit.
"But we were excellent. Defensively we stood up to them and, after the opening 20 minutes, we grew in confidence and created plenty of chances."
Robbie Agar set-up the opener for Ramsay, his fourth in six games, with Cross bagging his goal midway through the second half. The final effort from substitute Keenahan came a minute from the end.
"We played some good football and in the three games we have had a virtually full-strength side we have beaten Biddulph and Coventry Sphinx and drawn with Westfields," added Adams.
The Bees had Redditch United keeper Richard Anstiss in goal for their Vase clash and the boss was full of praise for the veteran stopper.
"He was excellent and I cannot thank him and Redditch United enough for their help," Adams explained. "We lost our keeper with a broken finger in midweek and Richard agreed to help us out.
"His experience and talking was just what we needed and he commanded everything, taking the pressure off those around him.
Although they didn't have too many chances, he did pull off a fantastic save when the score was 2-0."
Studley were due to face Friar Lane at the Beehive last night before playing host to Racing Club Warwick on Saturday.
And they finish a hectic week with a trip to Leamington in the first round of the Birmingham Senior Cup next Tuesday.
Alvechurch suffered a 2-0 defeat at home to Coalville Town in the Midland Alliance at the weekend, first half strikes from Carl Lawrence and Lee Smith handing the Leicestershire side the points.
Church are back in action tonight when they travel to Coventry Sphinx before heading to Quorn in Saturday's FA Cup first qualifying round.
Feckenham maintained their good run of form with a 2-0 victory over Brereton Social in the Midland Comb Premier Division.
Sean Maynard's first half strike handed them the lead with Nathan McLoughlin doubling the advantage in the second period The Millers were due to have striker Brian Powell back in contention for last night's trip to Cadbury Athletic and Saturday sees them in league action at Coleshill Town.
