REDDITCH romped to a 54-0 victory over a Bredon Star side who took the honours the last time the sides met.

After a sluggish opening 15 minutes and a few unforced errors, captain Neil Hodgkins showed the way, breaking from the back of a driving maul and racing 30 metres to cross under the posts, Tom Saddington adding the extras.

After that there was only going to be one winner with Redditch notching up an impressive 35 points before the interval thanks to tries from Saddington, Lee Avery-Sherwood, Mark Hannah and Andy Irvine.

The second half saw Tom Elmes claim a hat-trick of tries having made a welcome return from a thumb injury.

Redditch could have recorded an even greater win, had they not taken their foot of the gas in the latter stages.

Saddington produced an excellent kicking display, slotting over seven of the eight conversions.

"There are costs that have to borne by both clubs which cannot be recouped when this happens."
