REDDITCH began their Midland Conference West campaign with a dramatic and determined 4-4 draw at Leamington.

Although Redditch took an early lead, they had to come from behind three times to earn a share of the spoils.

It was Anna Stafford who opened the scoring after a strong run from midfield only for the home side to hit back with two goals.

Angela Taylor made it 2-2 on 20 minutes, latching on to a cross from player of the match Emma Hadley and squeezing the ball in on the near post.

The second half was as incident packed as the first. Leamington regained the lead early on from a short corner before Hadley made it 3-3 from close range.

The game then swung back in the home side's favour only for Redditch to finish strongly with Jo Stafford netting a deserved equaliser from a well-worked penalty routine.

Redditch are at home to Shrewsbury 2nds on Saturday (ko 1.30pm).

Redditch 2nds had an exciting 3-3 draw against Harborne 4ths while the newly-formed 3rds lost 4-2 to Worcester 4ths, a terrific effort from a team consisting of mainly u16s.
Anyone interested in joining the new 3rd team should drop in at training each Wednesday from 7-9pm.
