WYTHALL Mens B team lost 3-1 at Pershore A in Stratford and District Division Four.
There was a disappointing start for opening pair Mathew Smith and Ian Turner who never recovered from an early break and lost 6-1, 6-3.
James Fox and Kevin Turner hit back though to win their match 6-4 6-3.
In the reverse doubles Turner and Fox were soon in trouble when they were broken twice in the first three games. They fought back to 4-5 but the Pershore pair proved too strong and won the set 6-4 before taking the second 6-2.
The final match was the closest with the first set going to a tie-break which Wythall's Smith and Turner won.
It seemed the match would be drawn when Wythall took a 3-1 lead in the second set only for Pershore to win the following five games to level.
And the final set saw the home side take the honours 7-5 to secure their 3-1 win.
