BUISNESSSES have come together to help Redditch United go green, thanks to an energy efficiency grant.
Redditch United have installed a new air conditioning heat pump system to the Trico Stadium's main stand.
The system was fitted by Redditch-based companies; Enegen AC and Griffin Electrical with 40 per cent of the project funded by the county council’s business energy efficiency programme.
It has also been fitted in the club's education building that houses a football education college programme and a new special educational needs sports programme.
Redditch United vice-chair, Zeta Hewings, said: “Our main stand is known to be stuffy in the summer and cold in the winter limiting the activities we can deliver at these times. Not only was our old system not fit for purpose it was expensive to run and produced much greater CO2.”
The football club is hoping to host more events and courses thanks to the renovation work.
