A mixed week for Studley FC this week starting last Saturday with a lack lustre display in the FA Vase against lower league Stapenhill.
The game ended 0 v 0 after 90 mins with Studley having most of the play but never really threatening the goal.
Onto penalties we went and the unfortunate Jake Bloomer missing his penalty to give Stapenhill a 5 v 4 win on penalties.
Onto Tuesday and much fancied Atherstone were the visitors to the Beehive in the League. This was a decent 0 v 0 draw in front of a large crowd and both side strived to break the deadlock.
Chances were few and far between and a mention must go to Brendon Bunn in the Studley goal who made three or four fine saves. On Saturday the Bees travelled to another much fancied team making the trip to Whitchurch Allport. The Bees came away with an immpresive 3 v 1 victory with goals from Dan Carter 2 and Sam Jackson 1 .
Sam Jackson gave The Bees the lead on 28 mins when finding himself in space he found the bottom corner of the net.
Allport equalised on 53mins with a fine goal ,but Carter restored the lead a minute later after a fine move and a good cross from Fisher found Carter sliding in.
Bunn then saved a penalty on 67 mins and 3 minutes later Carter who had put pressure on both centre halves not giving them a minute , robbed one of them and found the bottom corner of the net with a fine finish.
Next game Tuesday 4th October at home to Highgate Utd
