REDDITCH United have swooped to bring back exciting attacker Jaiden White.

The tricky winger, 22, returns for his second spell having played for the Reds last season before joining Ilkeston Town on a dual-registration for the latter half of 2023-24.

The ex-Kidderminster Harriers man had an impressive pre-season with four goals as a trialist.

United manager Tim Flowers said: “We’re delighted he’s coming back.

"It’s been a long process and we tried to get him on board straight away but, due to his agent and getting a trial at Kidderminster where he played a couple of games this pre-season, it’s been slightly delayed.

"He’s obviously played a bit for us and I’ve really liked him. He’s scored a few goals for us and I think he’ll be a big asset to us this season.”

White said: “I’m buzzing to be back really. I’ve enjoyed pre-season. I’ve felt sharp and ready and I feel like my performances have reflected that.

"It’s a club that I know inside and out. When myself and Tim spoke we decided it was the best place for me to be this season.”

Redditch raised cash through gate receipts from last Saturday's 2-2 home draw with Walsall Wood to go towards popular midfielder Aram Soleman's ACL surgery.

The club said Wood also donated a sizeable amount towards the cause.

The Reds, who remained unbeaten in pre-season, led 2-1 at the break through Alex Cameron's fourth-minute finish from a White assist and Johnny Johnston's goal just after the half-hour mark.

Wood levelled early in the second half.

A trialist and Johnston had earned the Reds a 2-1 win at Evesham United last week.

United, who visit Stourport Swifts on Tuesday night (7.45pm), complete their pre-season friendlies at home to Swindon Supermarine on Saturday (3pm).

Meanwhile, Alvechurch have re-signed experienced winger Omari Sterling-James from Ebbsfleet United.

Sterling-James impressed for Church in the 2012-13 season after leaving Birmingham City.

The 30-year-old Saint Kitts and Nevis international has since played for Redditch, Cheltenham Town, Solihull Moors, Mansfield Town and Kidderminster.

Church have also added striker Kieran Wakefield, 20, from Birmingham City.

The Southern League Premier Division Central side finish pre-season at Carlton Town on Saturday (3pm).

Sterling-James scored two free-kicks in last Saturday's 3-1 home win over Bedworth United with Joe Willis also bagging a penalty.

A Church XI won 3-1 at Redditch Borough last week through Ben Davis (2) and a trialist.
