BROMSGROVE and Redditch AC members produced some great performances at the Worcestershire County Track and Field Championships in Worcester.
Sally Hogan was one of a number of impressive performers, winning the under-20s 1,500-metre final in four minutes 56.4 seconds.
The first race featuring a BRAC athlete was the opening heat of the U13s boys 100m, where Joshua Pearson finished second, a 10th-of-a-second behind Birchfield’s Zachary Jeacock, while in heat two, Dominic Gardner also finished runner-up, behind Worcester’s Chris Osborne.
Pearson (13.6) again had to settle for second behind Jeacock (13.5) in the final, while Gardner (14.5) was seventh.
In the boys U15s 100m, Oliver Kemp reached the final and finished sixth in 12.7, while in the U20s event, Dewi Hammond won with a time of 10.8.
In the seniors, David Mould (11.6) was second with Peter Mould (13) third and in the hurdles, Andrew Pearson won in 13.9.
Rebekah Miller, racing in the U15s 100m, was second in her heat (13.3) and the final (13.2).
In the U17s women 100m final, Ceri Hammond (13) placed third while in the women’s veterans final, Yasmine Al-Daftary was third in 15.8 and Romy Naven won the U20s race.
The 200m races saw Pearson win heat one (29.2) and Gardner (31.1) place third in the second.
In the final, Pearson (28.5) finished second just 0.1 behind Birchfield’s Jeacock again, while Gardner came seventh in 32.
Kemp was third in the U15s 200m in 26.4, while in the 300m U15s final, Pearson was runner-up in 42.2 and Simeon Clarance won the U17s 400m final in 53.
David Mould won the 400m seniors title (51.2) and Calvin Scoltock the veterans race (59.7).
In the women’s U20s 200m, Romy Naven took first place in 26.2 while in the senior men’s final David Mould won in 23.2 with Peter Mould second in the veterans race.
In the U15s 200m, Miller turned the tables from the 100m result and beat Birchfield’s Alex Beardmore in both the heat and in the final.
Tamara Ball clinched the women’s 1,500m in 5.15.44, while in the U13s 800m, Amy Mijovic-Couldwell and Amy Tongue represented the club to come fifth and ninth respectively out of a field of 11.
In the under-17s 800m final, Callum Smith finished third in 2.11.9. Andrew Freeman finished first in the veterans 800m in a time of 2.09.4, while Scoltock was second in 2.12.6.
Sean Bowden (4.10.0), Mark Appleton (4.45.3) and Damian Lewis (4.50.5) took the top-three spots in the senior men’s 1,500m.
In the field events, Joshua Pearson (3.46m) was sixth in the U13s long jump with Amy Mijovic-Couldwell (3.02m) and Amy Tongue (2.48m) taking 10th and 11th in the girls competition.
Andrew Pearson won the U15s boys long jump with a leap of 4.57m with Simeon Clarence (5.85m) taking second in the U17s.
The senior men’s category saw Freeman seal second in 4.30m, while in the U17s, Geordan Edmonds won the long jump with 4.96m.
Candy Lockett (20.11m), Heather Knight (16.76m) and Annie Scott (13.44m) took the top three places in the U15s discus.
Sam Lloyd won the senior women’s competition (29.28m) and Julie Wakelam the veteran women’s (23.67m).
Bowden took second in the U15s catgory (13.56m), while in the senior men’s competition, Richard O’Connor took third (30.59m) just in front of Sam Cater (30.50m).
Scoltock took first in the veteran pole vault (2.30m).
In the U13s high jump, Gardner placed third with a leap of 1.20m. And there were good performances by Amy Mijovic-Couldwell (3rd, 10.99m) and Amy Tongue (4th, 6.27m) in the U13s girls javelin and Lockett (1st, 17.27m) and Heather Knight (2nd, 14.76m) in the U15s girls.
In the boys’ U15s, Kemp won the javelin with a throw of 31.83m and Bowden third with 14.67m.
Sam Cater claimed first place in the senor men’s event with 49.7m with Andrew Freeman and Martin Aspely-Davis placing first and second in the veterans competition.
Edmonds was second in the U17s with a throw on (27.78m), followed by Charlotte Tongue (4th, 18.82m).
Sam Lloyd threw 31.75m to take second in the senior women’s javelin and Wakelam threw 23.23m to take the veterans title.
Edmonds won the U17s shot putt with 7.95m and Sam Lloyd took third in the senior women’s with 8.73m.
Al-Daftary took won the veteran women’s with 6.99m, Lockett again secured a first place with 7.08m in the U15s with Knight throwing 5.81m.
